What the project protects, what creators retain, and where third-party rights begin.

The project and protected expression

DAWNBLOOM develops the game and six independent apps: Token, Browser, News, Mail, Download, and Archive. Protected expression includes game art and stories as well as DAWNBLOOM-owned app names, icons, interfaces, code, published screenshots, product visuals, website design, DAWNBLOOM Community, and Dawnbloom Guide. Rights belong to Shanghai Chasing Light Intelligent Culture Media Co., Ltd. or the relevant owner, or are used under license.

The 光与绽森语, DAWNBLOOM, and 光と花咲く森 names and related brand marks have been registered in mainland China, the United States, and Japan. The DAWNBLOOM game program has also completed the corresponding copyright registrations or recordations in those regions.

IP protection does not give DAWNBLOOM a monopoly over abstract ideas, gameplay concepts, algorithmic concepts, genres, mathematical methods, or material the law does not protect. We assert rights in protected expression, marks, code, and other lawful interests.

Creators keep their own rights

Players retain rights in their original writing, art, videos, music, guides, and other expression. Including DAWNBLOOM characters, settings, art, or logos does not transfer the underlying IP to the creator. Publishing an ordinary fan work does not automatically transfer the creator’s original contribution to DAWNBLOOM.

Read the Fan Content Guidelines for creative uses and the Website and Community Terms of Use for site and community content.

Third-party material

The game, six apps, and website may use third-party fonts, music, open-source components, brands, or services. Source news articles and images, user mail, visited web pages, and marks such as Gmail, Outlook, Apple, Google, Microsoft, and Steam belong to their respective owners. DAWNBLOOM can license only rights it owns or may sublicense.
